I enjoy coffee.  Short and simple.  I’m not one of those people that have to have coffee first thing every morning or else I get cranky with a headache.  To be honest, I didn’t really drink coffee until after my college days.  As far as college, it was the “cool” thing to buy a cappuccino before morning classes…yes all that sugar went soaring through my bloodstream with great pleasure.  Can you imagine what it was doing to my body?  I didn’t think about it cause I was all about having fun with friends.   My friend, Steph, who lived right across the hall from me in the girls dorm, can vouch for all those cappuccino stops.  Uugh!!Salted Caramel Mocha Java (Sugar-Free, THM-Fuel Pull)

I haven’t had a cappuccino for a very very long time, but before THM I loved my sugar-filled flavored coffee creamer.  As a matter of fact, when I started drinking coffee, the cup was filled with half creamer, half coffee (isn’t that terrible?!!…I just told on myself).   I told everyone that I liked coffee, but HAD to have flavored creamer.  Now did that mean I really liked coffee??  Hmm!

Now a days I don’t have to have flavored creamer.  My “normal” cup of coffee normally consists of collagen, stevia and a touch of half n half (sometimes MCT oil too).   I like to make special hot drinks once in a while for variety.  If you haven’t tried my Sweet Cinnamon Latte yet, I guarantee you’ll love it…and you won’t even miss the creamer.

I’ve been working on a “chocolaty” flavored coffee for a while now.  When I added some cocoa, caramel extract and salt to my cup of coffee, I knew I had come up with another delightful drink.

Salted Caramel Mocha Java {Sugar-Free, THM-Fuel Pull)

Turn your average cup of coffee into a beverage of pure delight...with a touch of sweet & salty chocolaty-caramel flavor!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of freshly brewed coffee
  • 1 Tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon caramel extract
  • 1 scoop (1-1/2 Tablespoons) Collagen powder
  • 2 Tablespoons half and half
  • 2 teaspoons THM Super Sweet Blend
  • 1-2 pinches of salt - depending on how salty you like it

Instructions

  1. Make your normal cup of coffee and pour in a blender.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients and blend till well mixed.
  3. Pour back into your coffee cup, sprinkle with a bit of cocoa powder and enjoy!

Notes

Collagen is not absolutely necessary, but it gives a protein boost as well as some froth. It does not change the flavor of the coffee.
